How to get to the Villa di Vico

The Villa di Vico is located in the Municipality of Scandicci, near the town of San Vincenzo a Torri.

THE Directions to arrive by car:

1) From Scandicci (countryside route, approx. 12 Km.):

  • Cross Scandicci without ever turning and you arrive at Piazza del Vingone (bus terminus 2 and 27);
  • Take it in the direction of Roveta, Mosciano, S. Vincenzo a Torri;
  • After about ½ Km you will find the Chinese Pagoda of the Anastasia Club: continue on the road on the right;
  • After about 2 Km. Admire the village of Mosciano, but continue on the main road;
  • After about 5 Km. The road forks: continue on the left, towards Cerbaia, Montelupo, S. Vincenzo a Torri;
  • The road now continues downhill and meets the village of S. Michele a Torri: to get to Villa di Vico you have to continue for about 2.5 km, until you meet Via Empolese (just before, on the right, find a lake);
  • Here you turn right and continue for 800 m. until you meet, on the left, an Erg petrol station and, on the right, a votive shrine: immediately afterwards, always on the right, you will take Via del Lago, an unpaved road;
  • The Villa di Vico can be reached by continuing for about 900 m. and after passing three groups of houses.


(2) From Florence , Via Senese, P.zza Galluzzo, Cerbaia (approx. 20 Km.):

  • From Via Senese to piazza del Galluzzo, where you turn right in the direction of Cerbaia, then always proceeding along the main road;
  • Once in Cerbaia (about 20 minutes), cross the town towards San Vincenzo a Torri, Montelupo, Empoli;
  • Go straight on, without ever turning, for approx. 3 Km. Until you meet, on the left, an Erg petrol station and, on the right, a votive shrine: immediately after, always on the right, you will take Via del Lago, an unpaved road;
  • The Villa di Vico can be reached by continuing for about 900 m. and after passing three groups of houses.


(3) From Florence ,Freeway Florence- Pisa- Livorno, Ginestra F.na (approx. 22 Km.):

  • From Florence take the Firenze- Pisa- Livorno and after about 10 Km. Take the Ginestra F.na exit;
  • Continue turning right, in the direction of Cerbaia, San Casciano, without ever leaving the direction;
  • After about 3.5 km you will find the town of San Vincenzo a Torri: go through it all;
  • At the end of San Vincenzo a Torri, immediately after a winery (recognizable by the silver silos), on the left you will take Via del Lago;
  • The Villa di Vico can be reached by continuing for about 900 m. and after passing three groups of houses.


(4) From the A1 Autostrada del Sole motorway:

  • Exit at the Firenze Scandicci exit and after a few tens of meters take the Firenze- Pisa- Livorno towards Pisa- Livorno.
  • Continue as in the previous route (n ° 3).


(5) From the Siena highway- Florence:

  • Take the San Casciano exit and continue towards Cerbaia.
  • Once in Cerbaia (about 10 minutes), cross the town towards San Vincenzo a Torri, Montelupo, Empoli;
  • Go straight on, without ever turning, for approx. 3 Km. Until you meet, on the left, an Erg petrol station and, on the right, a votive shrine: immediately after, always on the right, you will take Via del Lago, an unpaved road;
  • The Villa di Vico can be reached by continuing for about 900 m. and after passing three groups of houses.

Directions to arrive by bus:

  • access the list of services of the Florentine transport company by clicking on http://www.ataf.net/ (or on http://www.ataf.net/Template/ListLinee.aspx?idC=180&idC_L=180&LN=it- IT) and choosing line 61 or line 63 for San Vincenzo a Torri; from the town square 1 km on foot.
  • visit the + Bus website (http://www.piubus.it/ or http://www.lazzi.it/) and choose the routes to San Vincenzo a Torri (on line 1CE36 – Empoli – Montelupo –San Casciano, or 1CE37 – Florence – Montespertoli – Castelfiorentino – Certaldo). Once in the village, from the square you will have to walk 1 km, towards Cerbaia (see above, path n ° 3).
  • for those coming from outside Florence, it is possible to combine the bus service with the train, getting off at the central station of Florence Santa Maria Novella, or at the Empoli or Montelupo station. Capraia (the latter is the closest).
